[Bars of the Day] More Gangsta Music] Cam x Juelz

cam

Now… You can neeeeeeeeeeever pull Dipset music out the Barney bag without taking a piece of one of my favorite albums EVER, Purple Haze. We were already fiended for the drop for a full year  before it was actually released. Today’s tune is More Gangsta Music ft. Juelz. I remember hearing the ” up down left right chea! chea! chea! chea!” on a Hot 97 Freestyle with Juelz and JR ’03 over Youngbloodz “Damn!”. Maaaannnnnnn if you have never heard it, I’d advise you to. Ennywehdoe, I had to pull from Juelz and Cam for bars for today because the song is just too great to leave one out. Biggggg shouts to HeatMakerz, bruh.

Julez:

I go dough let around, my hoe slow head around
They DTP’s deep throat professionals/
My D.I.P.’s we so professional
Got weed, coke, and ecstacy, lean, dope, and wet to sale/
We blow jars of the dank, like Bob Marley was wake
Real shot-ta!, fuck ya foreign exchange
I’m movin movin movin (jeah!)
Y’all losin losin losin (aye!)

Killa:

I chill though, pippin in the Range
All this ice an’ I’m ashamed, look like lightnin’ in the chain/
Who was first that moved wit they fam? (who)
Ask you, tattoos on they hand? (who)
Slang all the white? (who) cruise wit the tan? (who)
Pink on they back? (who) blue in they van? (who)
Yellow on his ear? (who) steam on the rock ?(who)
Purple in the air?(who) green in his pocket?

Cam had a whole different take on Coke Rap and was one of the best to break down his trendsetting ways, lawsuits, and all competitors into a complete word web. To understand Cam, is to understand the movement. lol They all rapped similar.

Jheni Aiko @ SOBs 10/19

:Emoji praise hands 10x:

AHHH!! I have been waiting for this moment for too long. I remember the B2K Remixes Vol.1 and Jhene Aiko had some records on that jawnt. I vividly remember though,  her on Pandemonium! features and “Dog” and No L.O.V.E. was. my. shit. Now recently this beautiful being has been the songstress of the West Coast collaborating on tracks with Schoolboy Q, Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, and others. Sailing Souls melts me every time. A mixtape that was written from the heart of a sailing soul. With her late big bro Miyagi‘s angel right beside her, Jhene’s strength and perseverance is on the high. And the talk on the low is that the Souled Out Queen will be at SOBs in NYC this Friday night!

Ugh. uh. Ah. (I’m dramatic, you’ll get used to it, trust.) NYC has been anticipating this and I’m sure it will please us all. Special guest that night will include Roc Nation’s Bridget Kelly and the dynamic music duo, Christian Rich.

Shouts to CMJ Festival! The lineup is love. Appreciate your team for appreciating new talent.

Power Couples With a Cause

Hov, Bey, and the Obamas? So necessary!  Jay and Bey will be hosting  Barrack Obama’s last fundraising event in NYC September 18, before the election, November 6.  This event capped at 100 guests, $40,000 per ticket, will be hosted at the 40/40 Club; regular.

Recently Mr. President crashed  Jay’s performance in Philly at the  Made In America Festival  (after the jump) and that was pretty dope. I love seeing my two favorites on opposite, but the same side of life’s spectrum interact in the way that these two do. Truly respect two of the biggest African American power couples uniting for a serious cause and making black look so beautiful.

And you really thought Obama wasn’t on the text? Kuh.

[Video] BarrelHouseBKLYN Rooftop Recap

Big shouts to the great folks at BarrelhouseBKLYN!! The boy dem hosted their 2nd annual cookout this past Saturday and it. was. aye. zoo! If the cops didn’t come shut it down (reached capacity), I’m pretty sure it would have been insane. But I mean… It’s Barrelhouse; wouldn’t expect nothing less. Thankfully the great Slick Jackson captured all the turn up on that roof top. If you didn’t get the molasses out ya asses for this one, I advise you do so for the pool party. Until then, peep the madness and check out BHBK.

[Watch Out Now!] Kreemo

What do you do when you spend your money on the hottest hipster clothing when you finally realize you can make something more… dope? You uh.. do it and Brian Wright did exactly that. Cousins Brian and Lavan Wright and the homie, Desmond Attmore  put their New York state of mind together and came up with what they believed would be better than the Supreme, BBC, and Bape in their closets; Kreemo.

Four years later after the birth of tees with familiar signs/logos with a psychotic twist, Kreemo is becoming the talk of some known artist’s wardrobe this year. Worn by Lil’ Wayne, Wiz Khalifa,  and Machine Gun Kelly, I “beg to differ” if anyone feels Kreemo will not take off.  With many styles, Kreemo can be dressed to your liking; whenever, however. For all “…it won’t be a fad… it’s a lifestyle.” Combining the meanings behind the name (Creedmoor Psychiatric Center) and the original logo a ghost (ever seen one?), Kreemo is looking really good for the future. Check out their site. The web store is closed temporarily while they put the finishing touches on the new release, but feel free to get to know the young trio and their passion for music and fashion.

iTunes Snatch

Thursday night I was in the car doing hoodrat things with my friends, when I heard an unfamiliar beat peaking through the speakers. Interning at a radio station, you know when a new record is on air instantly. Only catching the end of this song, I go to my hand dandy iHeartRadio app  to tune into DJ Clue because of course he’d be the one to premiere the record and play it back a couple of times. CLUTCH!

Basically… I’ve been listening to Mercy on repeat since. Yeah, Ye’s Theraflu got put on pause for this G.O.O.D. production ( Shouts to Lifted on the beat). The blend of Houston swag, trap knock, and dancehall ting (Shouts to Fuzzy Jones, R.I.P.), results in an inevitable bounce. Everyone did their thing. Big Sean starts off with his witty flow, Pusha T wellcrafts his drug talk as always, Ye talked his shit as usually which created a great build up for …..  2 Chaaaaiiiinnnnzzz! Mercy was his turf, excellent selection to end the record. Truuueeee.

Swerve.

…Oh.

http://www.worldstarhiphop.com/videos/ea/16711680/wshhUlwK2V8p3Ej09f1L

I don’t entertain World Star Hip Hop because there is always some off the wall, ratchet, ig’nant mess on there and I feel my brain cells evaporate. However, this video is wild ridiculous! I don’t know what the guy was doing on the train for the police to wrestle him, but they were not going to take my mans down. lmao.  I shouldn’t laugh because this is a little out of hand. They were really beating him with those batons. To watch two built policemen get shook by a teen in an Adidas track suit, they need their badges removed. It’s a new breed out there. And with all the injustice going on in the world right now, everyone is not with nothing. Eh. I hope he got away because on some real tip, if they catch him, they are really going to beat his ass. smh.

Allow me to first introduce myself…

I’m Q. For those who already know me, wuddap doe! Newbies: Why hello there? I’m some redheaded jawn doing what I can how I can. In my other life I was a creole housewife living in Lousiana; hence the red top and the motherly mentality.  I love to bake, spell out accents, and express myself through sound. I believe I am a product of my culture. 80’s baby to the fullest though technically to the least.

I have a good understanding of how the world works. For me that is. The swindles, the fine print, the rewards. Not saying I know it all, but I know enough to manuver in the sewer that I’ve grown up in. Wanting to have a career in the music, I really live this. So you will see me rip apart a song, artist, production, or label as well as adore, fiend, and appreciate  it.

Those born ’85-’91, this is for you. We are the future leaders of this thing we call the world. So what if our ambition and creativity is powered by drugs, music, and coonery. Greatness was always understood. Don’t matter how we get there, as long as we get there. It’s all a journey at the end of the day so make sure you look out the window, don’t want to miss the best part.
